That's what I was saying while watching it. Much respect to Orchard for competing up at 170 as a guy small enough to make 155 (and compete well enough to make the finals at that lower weight).

The kids' matches were incredible. Being honest, pre-event I thought it was "nice" of Eddie to be giving these kids a showcase, but I was arrogantly disinterested in watching the actual matches. Shows my ignorance; the 3 superfights were action-packed and supremely technical. It shows the potential for greatness if we inculcate the aggressive submission mentality in our competitors from a young age.

I agree on the kimura to NS choke (I made alittle post about it. It's a big set up for Darragh) Another good "feint" that's used by Marcelo Garcia and Darragh O'Connail is to take the seatbelt grip put press ure on the back of of their shoulders/neck and then "drop the bottom out from under them" and release your top arm and drop it onto their neck for the north south choke. Money.

Same goes for the kids. It gave a great feel and vibe to the event I thought.

No watched the feed. On the feed Jacob never showed up. Demian is doing BFA in Texas but it's gi. Hopefully Jacob will have another shot at him before the next BFA nogi. BFA isn't my favorite event in the world but it's semi sub only. Point for sub attacks in OT :-/ even if you attempt a keylock from inside someone's guard. That somehow count as a strong sub attempt ..... Fuck points

The kimura grip and the one from the seat belt like you said are 2 of my favorites, the seat belt one is so good

Me and all my friends were sat at home rooting for Orchard. He has done so much for our games (leg locks and reverse spiderweb - crazy how much the people I train with have integrated these into their game seeing as we've only studied him on Youtube). As has been said, he looked like a 155 guy fighting at 170, but Nathan's style is such that he is always dangerous - top or bottom. Those Dead Orchards would have finished anyone with less hulk-like arms at 170 and anyone at all at 155 I feel. Gutted he didn't get the rematch he obviously wanted, but so glad he decided to enter - awesome matches.

P.S. the two 14 years old boys... probably my favourite match. I was skeptical when I heard Eddie was bringing kids to the EBI, but mannnnnnn I'm glad he opened my eyes to the level of children out there.
