    Hip pain

Has anyone here developed a dull hip pain due to the rubber guard? I'm still fairly new to 10th planet, having toyed with some moves for a couple of years and only in the past 2 months or so have I deliberately tried to bring in the rubber guard when I roll.

The pain is in my left hip, which is the same leg I grab in Mission Control, NY etc. I can get to invisible collar without any discomfort. The pain seems to happen after training when I go to bed. I stretch out for about 10 minutes before (after a jog to warm up) and after training.

Is my body saying more flexibility needed in my hips? Will the "Crazy Knee Stretch" from Eddie's MTRG book help?

The stretch should help. I happen to have what Coach Herzog has...popping hip disorder or whatever it's called. I actually had mine dislocate in a lockdown last week from a student. Unbeleivable pain. All I can say is stretch, stretch, and then stretch some more. Also, yoga is a Huge help! Good luck.

Cheers for the advice guys! I am stretching twice daily, but I guess my body still needs to catch up!

Do any of you train MMA as well? The reason I ask is throwing head kicks for me is strictly out of the question, and attempting the splits or twisting from side to front splits causes major discomfort in my hips! I stick to just hacking away at the legs instead.
