Having goals. I have found it helps me to focus on one technique a week (position, submission, sweep, escapes ect) and not worrying about winning or tapping out, but just try to get that sub/sweep position escape or whatever your working on. It not only puts you in bad positions you have to work out of but you get really good at what your working on and you have a realistic goal that is achievable for that week. It makes every week you train enjoyable rather than just the feeling like crap cus you been getting tapped out like crazy. You have to have short term and long term goals.That way you dont just sit in comfortable positions and you force yourself to go for it
