End of HQ trip, and Jiu Jitsu

WTF....... F*#K the belt color. If thats why you went to the promissed land/HQ ? You went for the wrong reasons. Did you think Master Eddie was going to walk up and say "where has this guy been !!!!!! this guys the future of my system." Than hang a belt on you with a hug !!!!

Sorry maybe I shouldn't feel this way,but I was personally insulted. There are so many of us banging it out for this system. First thing I thought of was Gabby, Me, Coach Herzog and all the guys I know from his school. Plus countless others on this forum. Not one of us havn't hurt....bled.....or walked away because it seems sometimes like we give everything for what. But I don't know if your heads in the right place if any of that has ever been about a belt. You leaving someone you love with no heat why you go chase a belt, tells me your heads not in the right place. I have always said, someday Eddie will hang a black belt on me. I hope to be his youngest ever. But I have never put a time limit on it. If it never happens, it's because I'm lacking something, either in skill....or character. But it all will be on me. You say you would cut your arm off to prove yourself (earn a blue belt). Me and the people I thought of would cut there arm off to just train at HQ.....Thats the difference bro.

I know I will go to HQ someday, the only way I would ever leave dissapointed is if Eddie didn't introduce me to some of Lux's friends. Sorry got a little angry there, thought I better end with a laugh.lol.

I've only repped a few people, but this post deserves one, love the maturity bro.

I know : ). But somehow i feel slightly offended so im not ready to let him live this down yet. Honestly i hope he sits down and changes his mindset comes back and say his head wasnt in the right place and that he is back on the grind. Then ill drop it, but until then haha its not going away!

Gerrit, I'm not going to comment on you and you're family situation other than this. Sacrifice for Jiu Jitsu is a important part of the process, However the sacrifice should be your own, not your families.

1)When something doesn't go the way you expect, then best course of action is to internalize. Find our what "YOU" did wrong, rather that imediatley focus outward, this works well in both life and with Jiu Jitsu. Remember their is always at least 1 constant in failure, "You". What could "You" have done diffrently?

2)"8 years, 8 years, and I have nothing to show for it" Then I guess Jiu Jitsu isn't as important to you as you think it is, because you're missing the entire point. Jiu Jitsu really has little to do with belts, and if thats your focus you likely wont get far with that attitude. Focus on training and getting better.

3) You've been a member of the forum and "with the organization" for 7-8 months. Welp that maybe one of your first indications as to why you didn't get promoted.

4) Did you communicate your intentions that you would like to be evaluated by Eddie for a blue belt promotion?

5) Regardless of whether you did or didn't, there was a reason you weren't promoted. "YOU".


Your comments and actions clearly demonstrate that NOT promoting you was the right course of action, as we don't need your type of representation. It may be a bitter pill to swallow, looking in the mirror is the best course of action when things don't go "your" way.

I dont get it. So what if theres no place to get ranked in no gi where you live. There are options. Start a hot box, get affiliated, travel to HQ more than one time, compete in as many tournies as possible and get noticed. You cant just sit back and expect things to be handed to you. Im sure theres something legit nearby. If not theres always GQ and Worlds. Just save that money.

Jiu Jitsu is about the journey, Thats what Master Eddie told me one time. I'm proud of my journey so far. It has taken me to great places, and let me meet amazing people. I have also hit the wall at times in training and felt like a failure. I think it's the lows that teach you the most. It you can't handle the lows then maybe jiu jits isn't for you. And maybe the people at HQ saw that...and thats why you walked away without what you were looking for...... something to think about maybe.

My record for the last 2 years is around 115 wins with around 20 loses. Many of those wins were fights against black belts and jr black belts from all kinds of styles. I'm a 10th planet white belt. I wouldn't trade my journey for someones black belt for anything !!! Because if you think about it.....does it really matter??? Not unless your just looking to tell everyone there a black belt. Again back to my first post...... your heads not in the right place.

That being said..... master Eddie unless I see my black belt in the mail, were done !!!!!!!

First off i didnt expect to get anything but knowlege in going to HQ, which i got. I didnt expect to get a belt. I wrote this because I was angry about the situation with my injuries and mental state after finding out my house ran out of fuel and didnt have heat, (Turns out we didnt run out of fuel, the furnace just broke so i had to drop 6grand for another.) I wrote it hear because i was looking for some positive reiforcment and something that would cheer me up. Turns out this forum is full of trolls like any other forum and it was a bad idea.

I worked my ass off at HQ and got everything I ever expected out of it, including a surgery to repair the damage to my thumb. I apoligize if my first post was misleading but i also want to thank everyone who understood what I was going through and took it was me reaching out for help. I am not only in Jits for a belt, jitz has been my life for a long time and will continue to be. I dont "Expect" to get a belt from anyone or any other organization than the 10th Planet family unlike alot of u on the forums who settled for other schools.

Cant start a Hotbox, cant meet the requirments for comps. because alaska only has 2 a year and I missed one to go to HQ

Once again I am sorry for the post, I went to HQ and had the time of my life and expect to go back, I never quit at anypoint on my trip, even after I found out my thumb joint was destroyed and had to be surgically repaired. My dedication is more than any of u will ever know and I will prove it to myself because I will not quit. Thanks and sorry again. Dont hold it against me, i am human and i was angry and we all make mistakes.
