I currently live/train in Humboldt, CA so the closest 10th Planet school is in Eugene, OR. I definitely want to plan a trip there and train with 10th Planet Black Belt Gerald Strebendt. I 've seen a lot of interviews/matches of the other 10th planet black belts but I have not seen any of Gerald. Can someone tell me a little bit about him other than what is written under the 10th Planet Eugene section on this website (best qualities as a 10th planet jj player, best qualities as an instructor, etc.)?

He is my instructor. He is one of the nicest guys i know. He takes his time with you and helps you learn. he likes the leg locks alot. he'll roll iwth you. he has fought in the UFC (vs josh thompson) , cag erage champion, other places to. one of eddies orginal students. i will call him and let him know your coming by. we have a lot of good guys there, no ego's (at leats with me). i'll roll with you if you come by (you'll porobably tap me htough
) he is kinda under the radar and heis a bad *ss

Before 10th Planet was born, back when I was a purple belt commentating for King of the Cage and Pride, Gerald was my first mma student. He was the first person to hit a twister in an mma fight and was the first person to use the rubber guard to finish in an mma fight, meathook to triangle in Gladiator Challenge "Rumble in the Rockies".
He is a very important part and historical piece in the 10th Planet story

Gerald is a badass. He's got a really good butterfly guard game and a suffocating top game. Super nice guy too. We've got a couple really good guys to roll with if you come by. He's kinda been under the radar so not a lot of people have heard of him but like eddie said he was there in the beginning.#10thplanetFREAKS

Thank you! I really appreciate it. I have been training at a pretty old school Gracie jj academy for a couple of years now and its cool but I just recently found out about 10th planet jj and I cannot get enough. I love the philosophy of taking everything that works and nothing that doesn't and implementing it into the system. I can't wait to visit.
