At Southwest Grapplefest was a good time all around. We met up with Kyle from the forum who stayed with with us all day helped coach some and even came to dinner. 10th Planet El Paso was also in the house.
We had Luis Castillo bringing home 3 golds and a silver in both teens advanced and mens intermediate gi and no gi. We also had Dario Jimenez take home his first gold in mens beg. no gi winning all five of his matches with four by submission. Miguel Ordonez taking 2nd place in mens blue belt and not being able to compete in no gi due to a rib injury, we suspect he would have placed well there too. We also had Carlo Miramontes taking home gold in teens beg. his first time competing outside of wrestling.
We also had Nate Harris, Jorge Padron, John Salazar, Edward McGovern III, and myself competing. I took 5th out of 18 in mens intermediate no gi.
I will also get whatever video I can and post here too once it gets edited down.
