    Me and eddie actually were talking about this match up.. I forgot it had happened.. Gonzaga did better then i thougt he would have

    Really, you don't think size matters or do you think Marcelo is that good.

    We were discussing the controversial topic of marcelo refusing to use head and arm chokes or kimuras or anything he thinks he cant use on bigger oponents. I think he would win because of such an appoarch, also because he is that good.

    I'd be interested in that discussion. What were you guys saying? Are you saying he would win anyways if he did use Kimura, etc?

    I actually don't think the idea is that controversial. I think it's shocking to many because those moves like the Kimura and arm triangles are so common it just seems surprising when someone says, "nope, not efficient enough for me." It makes sense if you know his philosophy though. It's simply easier to choke someone's neck than someone's neck and arm. And armbar is easier than a Kimura. His criteria for what he considers a "strength" or "power" move is very low, I'll say that.
