    S mount tips?

I've never tried it and I seem to get to mount often enough that I feel like I should start practicing. S mount looks really effective but it looks really unstable so I never go for it. Any tips? Like, where should my weight be? Do I keep one hand posted at all times? Both knees on the ground? Robson Moura keeps his foot under the shoulder. Vinny Mag looks like he slides his calf under the shoulder. Is it a matter of preference?

    Any tips would be great.

attacking his right arm - get the deep hook, left knee as close to his head as possible and right foot does the same being close to the head. i keep all my weight on their chest. keeping the weight on his chest should prevent him from doing much. if he bucks u could go back to mount or just fall to your butt and get the over under on the legs. i like to do it slow and controlled so i keep the arm and positioning the whole time.

This. Once you have your weight on his chest and both legs are pinching his shoulders in, you've got him pretty immobilized. From here I take my time establishing as deep a hook as I can on his near arm before transitioning to spider-web. If you're distributing your weight properly, your opponent should feel grateful that you're no longer sitting on his chest. My problem is once I get to spiderweb, he's already defending well against the arm-bar.

i dont care if hes well aware of the arm bar at that point. ill sit back and try for the x break or douchebag. if those fail ill set up the triangle.

I love the S mount. it's one of the positions I've been really fascinated about. It's important to keep your back leg close to his head they never told me why but I think it's for two reasons. one, it traps his arm and makes it more vulnerable and two it makes your base wider. At least that's what I think, I could be wrong.

when I have s mount, it also feels like I can somehow transition to a triangle, but I'm not quite sure how yet. I'll probably look up some vids on it.

I like to switch to S Mount from a full mount to obtain the armbar or triangle but haven't seen this transition. I like that he traps his opponents arm and keeps that pressure on the entire time. Thanks for posting!
