I do advertizing for a living, so quick skinny on radio.
cons- trouble reaching people under 30, because of I-pods, pandora, satelite radio, etc
limited reach, each radio station tends to have narrow demographic of listeners.
Only audio, no visual so if your product is visual is a tough sell
Often the listeners are engaged in other activities while listening.

    Pros- good frequency
    Targeted demographic

Best way to use radio- 3 stations, 20 ads per week on each station.
Best if you already have a strong brand in the marketplace.

most major brands are not built on radio, they do use radio as additional touch points. If you hear a Geico commercial on the radio your mind associates that with the visual image you have in your brain of the Geico lizard. If you hear a radio ad with no visual in memory to back it up, it is difficult to retain.

I cant remember the last time I listened to the radio. I think the best marketing for the younger crowd would be the internet. Personally I do much more online than anything else. Dont watch tv (unless its through the internet) and dont listen to the radio. Its all Pandora and Itunes

Brent is 27, and fits perfectly why radio has a hard time reaching anybody under 30.

He is also correct in the fact that IF your facebook "likes" and website optimumization are not up to par, then that would be a better use of the dollars you are considering for radio, if your target is people under 30. At this time TV, is still considered the best way to build an image and to trigger a response to your business over a large demographic.
