cyborg has a counter to the standing de la riva thats basically an entry to the cap. pass....he hits a roll from there to the back. its really involved but if you are good at the cap. pass you can kill with it....oh and its also a great counter for berimbolo

I really like this concept and will play with it, but just a thought: Right when you fall to your side, what stops the opponent from back-rolling over you with your trapped leg and ending up on top? The backroll is a sweep I use from deep half, De la Riva, 93/shield-guard, etc anyway, so I'm wondering why it won't work here. But overall, I like it. Any thoughts on this? Am I being to vague about the backroll motion?

The hardest (or easiest part) is getting that foot control. If you have the foot, you can instantly hit the rolling toe hold.

Depending on your opponent, he'll either give you the foot or he won't.. if he doesn't, fighting for it will just get you into deeper water.

Tavares is awesome, and this move theoretically resolves a problem I have countering the breimbolo. I would grab the foot like a toehold, dive for a missed toehold, and then try to kick them over using my leg as a hook. This move always resulted into a scramble. I like Tavares' angle better, since it seems to get the hook in deeper, to set up the back take.
