Sorry my friend but that is a ludicrous statement. And I dont care if that is the god of no gi jiu jitsu, Marcelo's way of thinking. How many strict No Gi guys have been around before Eddie opened his schools? Obviously theres been Catch Wrestlers but how many of those guys were attempting to win No gi tournaments trying to get to ADCC level competition? Eddie opened his school around 10 years ago. Denny being the top competitor for 10th Planet, just got his black belt a couple years back, but its true theres hardly any no gi ADCC champions. But consider this, since strict no gi schools have only really been around for around 10 years, is it really likely that theres going to be a ton of ADCC champions?
My thoughts are kind of all over the place but my point is Gi BJJ has been around in the states for a good decade longer. Therefore the gi guys will more than likely be the top competitors. Once the strict No gi guys catch up Id be willing to bet we'll have many more champs
