Intro the forum, strikeforce and you ^^

Hello!


I've been a fan of the 10p system for some time now and decided it was time to sign up to join this amazing community. My name is Barber (which is actually my last name my first is Michael, but everyone & their mother is named Michael so I go by my last) and I currently live in Alaska. I'm very new to the bjj scene (still a white belt with two stripes woot) but I've fallen in love with it and cant wait to progress to the point of someday being a black belt.

Im planning to move to portland within the next few months and start hitting up the 10p there. Ill be heading down to scout the area the 10th-18th of July which is during the Kennedy vs Rockhold strikeforce event. If any of one want to meet up and hit up the event let me know. I already have my ticket ^^ (this is going to be my first "official" MMA event so Im pretty stoked.) I look forward to learning (and hopefully someday repping) from you guys .

Thanks. No worries Jason. Im hoping I can get settled in Portland pretty quick so I can start training. Im very much looking forward to training with you guys and it makes it even better its at a 10th planet.

Noticed you said you're a 2 stripe white belt so I'm assuming you roll in the pajamas as well. We do Gi here too. Oh yeah and Russian Sambo. 10th Planet Portland is a badass place to be!

Most of my bjj time has been spent in the pajamas lol. I have very limited no-gi experience atm. Although I am glad to hear that you guys do both. If you love it do it all. Ive never done sambo before lol, but that sounds cool. Karate was my main martial art growing up because we didnt have anything else, which I still enjoy participating in but Id much rather focus on bjj now.

NIce. Have you ever learned SAMBO straight from a Russian? Painful, but informative, comedic, and awesome. Shouts out to Igor Yakimov!

Ive always been a little scared of male russians...I think I played too much streetfighter. Though I bet its pretty cool.

Our Sambo instructor, Vladimir Novikov, is Russian. Awesome instructor. Pretty badass bjj purple belt as well.
