2 hours and one parking ticket later my Private Lesson with Denny..

Was incredible. Finally got to see what everyone was talking about and it exceeded expectations. Like Master Eddie said on my other post, "my head was going to fucking explode with all the stuff Denny is going to teach you," and to be completely honest, it damn near did. Denny worked on several (understatement) different techniques of the system with me and helped tailor techniques to what he felt suited my rolling style. He broke down the do's and don'ts perfectly and above all else patiently. At all times the experience was comfortable and relaxing and really informative. Afterwords he went through Master Eddie's book with me, and showed me exactly what we covered and then personally wrote down the names in my iPhone to have to study and remember. Later I told him I wanted to compete in September and he left me with some good parting advice. "Train to train. Whether your training to compete or just training because, just come out and train." Definitely going to be heading back to 10th Planet: San Francisco in the near future, and if any 10th Planet System practitioner stop by the Bay Area, make it a point to stop at Denny's place and see for yourself.

I got so caught up in the lesson, I had also forgotten I only put an hours worth of change in the meter. Forgetting how ridiculously on top of their shit they are at the Traffic Management Department of San Francisco, I was greeted after my lesson by nagging piece of paper on my windshield. Moral of the story: find free parking or bring more change.

Great story to hear. I had a student train with Denny this year for about 4 months. He came back such a better player. Just the little things he does now were amazing. Denny is sick sick teacher. Glad you took the time to see him. It will pay dividends later.

Yeah despite the parking ticket, it was an amazing experience. Super recommend it if you're ever in the area. Learned a lot today.

That sucks on the parking ticket! Next time the meters are free after six or the lot on 14th st is a good spot to park if you have to be in the area before six! Definitely a lot cheaper than that ticket! Glad you had a great private with Denny! That's a guaranteed game changer! Hopefully I'll see you around the gym sometime!

I had the same type of experience when I trained at 10th Planet SF with Denny and everyone. Just a great teacher, who goes well ABOVE and BEYOND what most privates consist of. He's just a wealth of knowledge in grappling, training, etc. I'll be back next month for more privates from Denny when I get back from Vegas for UFC. On my next trip, I'd like to get at least two more in Even if you don't live in the area, go out of your way to train with Denny. IT'S WORTH IT!

Yeah by far my most favorite concept he left me with was "Human Anaconda Mode." Squeeze and only get tighter and tighter till you feel them tap. Even when rolling with him, the difference in control was night and day and the pressure he was applied was dangerous, I felt like I was choking myself lol. Great time, very humbling.

Great concept. I try my best to be light because I'm a heavy guy so I don't wanna use my weight advantage. But when I roll with my big partners, this is a great piece of advice. I know coach always feels heavy. One of my bigger training partners, Sarkis, is like 250lbs. And for some reason, the 210lbs Herzog feels heavier. ( I know Sarkis goes easy on me.) But yes. Great piece of info man. Awesome testimonial.
