    Favorite Heavy Bag Combos

For those heavy bag users out there, what are your favorite combos to throw at it? I've had a year of muay thai training, so I usually just mix it up with a variety of strikes I learned there, but I'm looking to put in some reps of some solid 3-6 strike combos.. any suggestions?

I've got a 100lb hanging bag, but the stand its hanging from only allows me to move around about 270 degrees of the bag, so that's what I'm working with.

I just go random for conditioning on the heavy beg usually unless I'm trying to work on my movement by going in and out foot jab 1 2 or 1 2 then angle off body kick.

Anderson Silva kick? A front kick? lol That's like calling the left hook the Mike Tyson punch.

So you switch stances between the double left jab and the right jab? or did u mean double left jab, right cross, then switch stances for the right hooks?

It's funny because I have a tendency to want to switch to south paw when I transition from left jabs to right crosses because I have a more open stance from muay thai, and I'm used to switching stances mid-combo to throw kicks, but that turns the right cross into a right jab which has significantly less power. It's an urge I've been resisting because I'm trying to focus more on proper boxing form. I haven't had any formal boxing training, just some second hand tutelage from my best friend who trained at ATT with Howard Davis Jr for years, before he became so highly sought after. So I'm not sure if switching stances is very common in traditional boxing?

all jabs lol so under used I always pump off 2 jabs before anything my fav combo is double jab right cross left hook right uppercut then left straight followed with right straight then circle i always end my bag time with 20 jabs 20 rights 20 hooks on each side etc...focusing on punching from my feet through my hips out the end of my fist making sure my foot placement is perfect just like jitz always drill the basics no matter how many time you done it.

yea it feals more natural tfor me to switch stances & then cicle away from there power & throw the body head combo. i like to be fluid & not stuck to any one style. i had 2 boxing instructors & one had a really stiff style better for short compact dudes, & the other had a fluid style based on his body type for longer dudes, & that works for me

of course the front kick has been around for 1000 years but Anderson gave it new life & now everyone uses it, & even Joe & Golberg call it the Anderson kick, a fitting title indeed, just like Eddie's twister. did you not see Anderson nearly decapitate Vitor with it or something ?

I did and it was awesome. Guy's are using in more in MMA since Anderson did it but it's always been one of the most used techniques in traditional martial arts. In a thousand years no one will know who Anderson Silva is but the front kick will still be around. You don't rename one of the most used techniques used because one guy has success with it. Again it's like calling the jab the Larry Holmes punch.
