I figured it's time for a thread about the upcoming fight. Sorry if there is one already, I didn't see it.
I just watched Seagal's ridiculous video with Helwani, where he acts like a d-bag, but talks about Anderson being angry and practicing dangerous moves. While Seagal seems off his rocker, I also believe some of what he is saying. Particularly, he said that they have studied the rules to learn that some things that seemed illegal (and by implication dangerous) are technically legal.
I have said this many times on many forums since Anderson losing it last week on radio. I believe this is truly gong to be something different, and that Anderson is going to try to badly hurt him. If not illegally, than damn close to it. My original and best guess is that he is going to borderline KO Chael, jump on him, and fully snap a limb in two - beyond repair - before the ref can stop it. I'm talking kneebar until his toe touches his knee, or armbar until its hanging off his elbow. The other possibility is that he drops him so bad that if he hit him once more, the ref would stop it, but backs off and waves him back up, over and over until Sonnen literally refuses to get back up. Basically repeated KOs until he is broken on a level we have never seen. The rage in his voice on that show, and the rage in his eyes during the staredown ... when I watched that, I honestly saw a furious monster that was CERTAIN he was going to seriously injure his enemy. Not KO, not submit ... seriously and maybe permanently injure.
I have never bought into this type of hype before. I hate WWE-type BS. I'm not just an Anderson lover who is excited to see him beat his arch-enemy. I really think this ends with multiple lawsuits, from Chael against the UFC, the commission, Anderson, and the ref. To be honest, I'm actually a little concerned Anderson might go even further than that, and try to land something lethal, like a strike to the windpipe or side of the neck.
Am I on crazy pills, or has anyone else been thinking this?
