Ill put on my old man hat and give some un-asked-for and probably unwanted marital advice:
Forget that marriage is 50/50 crap, that's the best way to end up in a bad marriage or divorced. Its 100 period. Meaning if something isn't being done don't just say "hey I did my part, they have to meet me halfway" if your other half is lacking in one area that's a queue for you to make up the difference.
Treat love as a commitment not a feeling. Feelings come and go. When you commit to something you work at it and strive to fulfill it. We have to work at truly showing love to our spouses.
When raising kids you better figure out what you are basing right and wrong on and have a united front with your spouse. Do this or don't do that "because I said so" doesn't go very far.
