Great morning class. Eddie taught and helped us refine the Boa to Half Plex and the Electric Chair From half guard. Some excellent, small details that will make an enormous difference in a position that I already feel really comfortable in. I definitely leveled up my half guard this morning.
More Dead Zone drills. Got to put in good work with some of our MMA stars like Ben Sample and Alan Jouban. Both excellent people and practitioners.
Free roll with RW Pegau from Spokane. Lots of fun. And then free roll with Ben Sample and it happened....
The inevitable injury. I split the top of my head open during an accidental head butt. Ben sat up to recover guard as I was making an aggressive movement to put him on his back. Not a huge cut, but big enough.
ER visit. Doctor says "we gotta staple." I said "That's not an option." I let him know about the competition. He reluctantly glues my head together and tries to keep it together with Steri Strips. Hoping it holds up. He says take lots of Vitamin C and Magnesium and Zinc to help the healing. No training at all until Thursday, and then only light contact. Planning on getting in lots of outside cardio between now and then I guess.
If you're a prayer warrior, I could use it right now. I'm feeling kinda bummed and I need some healing on the ole skull.
