The nuclear power plant crisis going on in Japan right now reminded me of a great documentary I once saw called The Nuclear Comeback. This is a must see, especially for those who think nuclear power might be the answer to global warming.

I wasn't suggesting that Nuclear Power is the way to go as you will find out by watching The Nuclear Comeback documentary. You will find it is much more dangerous than coal & oil energy. A coal mine caves in you have some dead miners, not good by any means, but if a reactor has a meltdown you have a Chernobyl, a dead city and the possibility of a dead country or continent which came very close to happening to Europe. < Yeah, DAMN!

GREEN ENERGY EVERYTHING! Not just solar power but wind, water, etc. the whole world.

NO POWER OUTAGES Don't be so sure, an energy company might pull an ENRON and cut power to a city or state to drive up stock prices like they did in California. You'll find out about that one by watching the documentary Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room.

i took your recommendation and watched the Countdown To Zero documentary on NetFlix. You're right it was epic . . . . . . and we're all F@*#ED!

With the info from The Nuclear Comeback and Countdown To Zero I am certain that nuclear power (military or civilian) will result in the Annihilation of a civilization if not the entire World.

its amazing that we are the only anminals on the world that can destroy it within seconds i remember reading a article a few weeks back that if our military trends contuine we will launch a nuke within the next 10 years on a "hostile" goverment and it will lead to a full on nuclear winter

I think we'll be fine. A nuke or 2 might go off over a city in our lifetime. Japan came back. So will Iran after they go through WW3. Humans and life will continue. Colorado isn't on the nuke-terror short list so I'm safe Generally the world is a better place as time moves forward, given any reading of history. Sure we have problems, but also solutions. Did you read that Thorium article in Wired. No bombs, meltdowns, and basically free energy. That's epic future-sci-fi ready to go right now.
