Vera used some lockdown and super stomp also. Thought Vera might actually win about round 3.

Saw some Deep Half attempt too thought he was going for the sweep. Too bad really impressed me though, you can hit Shogun with everything but the kitchen sink and dude just keeps charging forward. I want Shogun to get the shot, Machida's style though spectacular finishes, Shogun will walk through hell to get his belt back. Should be interesting to see what happens.

Lots of half guard work was being used both from Varner/Lauzon and TONS of guard work with Vera and Rua.
All in all, sick card! Machida dominates bader... made him look silly. And Rua puts on a incredible fight because of Brandon Vera.

Rua looked bad in that fight....I actually switched to rooting for Vera, he was clearly perma rocked from that shot early on, he almost got tko'd, but he just kept pushing.
Rua seemed to go in with a very safe gameplan of lay and prey with the take downs, probably looking for a sub since he knew he needed a finish.
That finish could of happened for either fighter, Rua just unloaded first at the right time.


I'm glad Machida knocked Bader out though, I would not of wanted to see another fight where Shogun gasses and get's picked apart.
I like him too much to want to see that happen.
I thought for sure he was going to walk through Vera and I totally counted him out, but damn, I'm on the Vera bandwagon now, and it was a loss. lol
