Mastering the Rubber guard!

(The book)
Here's how I stretch:
I run, (or walk and run on intervals, depending on if I'm in shape or not), a couple of kilometers, until I'm warm. I jog back to my place, and I start the stretches from the book. In between I do Prasara yoga, a routine called flock of pigeons. It stretches and loosens up the muscle groups I'm already trying to stretch, and it stops the cool down process, and keeps me warm. This routine is incredible for staying warm, it's short, but I actually start sweating every time I do it. I reccomend it, "Flock of pigeons"
Next is my strecth routine, that has some other stretches I've been doing trough the years that I like and won't get rid off.
Then I practice rubber guard on a grappling dummy, because I believe the practice part itself is a strech, or at least makes my body accustomed to the positions.
Then there's rebel yoga, and all other forms of yoga. As for stretching philosophy, I listen to da Bravo man, and Bill Wallace. Bill Wallace has a degree in Chinesiology, and he's insanely flexible. his idea is to be warm, and to relax the muscles. If the muscle is relaxed, it will naturally elongate itself over time, not tearing anything. If it's not relaxed, your subconsciousness makes your muscles behave weird. You are prone to injury, and you experience sorness, and the muscle becomes less flexible day by day.
That's why I always consider stretching to be happy hour, or helax-tiem. Have a cup of tea, but on music, find the spot where you know you are stretching the muscle, but not overdoing it. Then you relax, like if you are going to sleep, just chill and enjoy yourself.
the next is routine, if you do it almost every day, you start getting results. Those are my best tips. I'm sure not everyone uses the same strategy, but this one works for me! And very well I might add!
