mh. But how do you position your legs when the lockdown isn't locked in? The leg that's under his ankle, do you draw it up under his shin, or do you put it on top of his calf? I've heard Eddie say you press down with the knees, in a sort of lotus /butterfly position here, (and press his leg down to the mat?)
My question is; is there some specific machanics to it.. The leg that comes around and over from the outside is a given I guess, it stays there, but I'm not sure where to put my other foot?
It might be a stupid question or maybe making it too complex, but I'm asking anyway!

For me it's all about knee pinch. Usually I just Tighten it to Whip and extend, but other than that its pretty loose so I can stomp to butterfly etc.

On top of whats already been said.. Something i do (mind you, im strange).. But when Im driving on a straight road for awhile.. Ill position my arm in the "rubber guard position" on my steering wheel. With my elbows on the middle section and wrists behind the tops of the wheel. Then just keep constant pressure. I figure if I drive a few times a day.. 5 minutes at a time.. it cant hurt :P (unless i lose control of my car and hit a tree)

Get an inflatable exercise ball.. Put it under both you legs, using your leg curl. Then put it between your knees and squeeze it as hard as you can.Do this every other day for as many 1 min. rounds that you can. Rest one minute between sets. Does wonders for the squeeze and squeezing endurance. Hope it helps.

For me the "outside over" leg is leg curling a little with the ball of the foot secure on the floor. This inside leg, right down on the mat. i don't want him at anytime to be able to slide his leg under that foot and hide it. I don't care where he flops his leg around to I can slam that lock down closed at anytime. As John mentioned I do knee pinch plus leg curl so it is not just loose. Snug, just not lockdown. If your doing it right, you can just straighten your legs at anytime and it slide right to lockdown. Still very much a work in progress for me though.

Thank you Greg and John! That's good pointers on strategy and technique! I think I understand better now! Even gave me some ideas of my own.

Good Stuff, sometimes we use our crossfit med balls that are 14" in diameter or a smaller med ball as well.
