This is not unusual in the UK 'justice' system. I think you are meant to disarm your attacker with poetry, as anything else seems to be excessive force. The guy was drunk on my property and attacked me first, and I'm the bad guy. I've been told by my barrister that it was a fair trail and I don't have grounds for appeal - I'm just in shock to be honest.

Holy Shit this all sucks, sometimes the Legal System in my adopted country really needs to go have a word with itself I'm new on here so dont know if I even have the right to comment. But I've had a few friends that have done some time in the UK, and overseas, and I think compared to a foreign nick you'll do fine.You get some uninterrupted training time, and no bills to pay for around 14-18 months.

On a sidenote, if anyone called "Raymond the Bastard" tries to draw you into anything shady, try to avoid it. The clue's in his nickname...)

Your barrister/legal team sound shit. I'm an ex squaddie who now works in the legal industry, and sometimes it makes me cringe to admit that, I'd rather say I'm a social-worker or something...

Sending out a good thought for you fella, keep your eyes open and your mouth shut (and your balloon-knot too... and you'll do fine, be out way before your 3 is up.
