    10TH Planet Jiujitsu Yokosuka Japan

    Hi team!

    I am in talks right now with Master Bravo right now to bring the 10th Planet Jiujitsu to Japan. We have 2 dojo's here and we are hoping to become the first affliate in Japan.

    We have a huge market in Japan for 10th Planet. We are also teaching the largest Navy base here in Japan. We have a really nice group set up over here on the base. Many of the Navy guys over here have expressed interest in the 10th Planet System. We are planning to expand to other bases in 2013.

    I am planning to come train in 10th Planet in LA next month. I hope to be able to meet as many of you as possible when I show up. If you have any advice that you can offer me about launching 10P in a new market it would be great to hear!

    Thanks Brent. Still very early in the process, but I'm hoping for positive results. We are a primarily Open Style Grappling / BJJ / JJJ school. We train no Gi mostly but go back to the Gi from time to time. Grappling is really picking up over here. Especially since the UFC cme back to Japan. Also there are a lot of tournaments over here that we want to represent 10P at. I hope that in the future 10P will dominate the tourny circut over here!!! That's one of the goals!

    Yokohama is the closest major city. In 2013 we are opening another dojo in Yokohama. Yokohama is about 10-15 miles from Tokyo. Yokosuka, where we have 2 schools now, is about 30 miles from Tokyo or about 1 hr and some change by train. I commute to Tokyo every day for work so it's not that bad.

    I heard it really expensive to open a gym or business in the heart of Tokyo and the guns aren't too big..

    Plus we are already teaching on the largest Navy base in Japan. The Air Force and Army have expressed interest in having us teach their guys as well. Our plan is to leverage the military guys and get them into the gym off base as well. Most of the guys that are here in Japan head back to California after Japan. I hope the guys going back stateside will want to continue their training at another 10P school when they get back home.
