Tuff night. One title fight, a #1 contender fight and our 125 pounder fighting @ 135. 125 pounder was against a good BJJ player. BJJ player wanted to go right to the ground and our 125'er went right to rubber guard( that he learned 2 weeks ago) and had the gogo but couldn't get the toes, only pull the head. It seemed the BJJ guy didn't like it and wasn't so keen on takin the fight to the ground again. Very bloody back and forth war!! #1 contender fight was not good for our guy. First round RNC. Title fight went pretty well. Our guy was fighting a known takedown artist. he was able to stuff the crap our a serveral takedowns. I think he was only taken down once and did a good job of pullin guard, and keeping posture broke and received almost no damage. The guy gave up on takedowns and it turned into a brawl, which is what our guy wanted, and he was dominating. When in a brawl however, there is a chance that your opponent will get that one good punch through and land on the button, and that is just what happened. Dude thru a despiration left hook right to the chin. lights out.
