Hydration post weight cut is key.
Don't over exert yourself this week in training.
If you can't take your oponent down, pull guard and/or work the half guard lockdown series.
    Have fun and compete hard.
Be Humble in victory and Gracious in defeat.

Dont do anything out of your comfort zone during your matches. Stick to the techniques you have drilled the most, have fun and work up a little sweat before you step out there that way you know you are warmed up and not warming up during your match.

Relax before the fight. try not to freak out and adrenalin dump before you even step on the mat. I always liked to relax at the beginning of the fight and let my opponent blow their load while I conserve my energy. Specially at the lower belts the guys tend to go 100% at the start. I like to go 70% and let the guy freak out and waste energy then I start to implement my game..

Just remember win or lose your going to learn. To evaluate your efforts to progress as a martial artist. Also if its the very first tournament you've been to be prepared to be there all day. Other than that have fun and let us know how you did
