This is my main concern - while I think there are major problems with BJJ rules/scoring - I think there can be problems with sub only too. Competitor's demand for winning, can turn anything into it's worst form - even if it has all the opportunity to be amazing. You can imagine someone not being concerned about being mounted and just sitting there with their elbows pinned to their sides, waiting, when they could be getting jacked in the face. It's definitely a trade-off, but I fear you'll have people playing super conservative and then trying to snatch a leg-lock. Ryan Hall talked about this quite a bit in his recent onthemat podcast. I'd prefer if they just fixed the rules to make more sense, then people would still have that sense of urgency.
This will definitely be awesome though - I just don't think sub-only is the answer for jiu jitsu - I think fixing the rules is.
