So, I was getting on the weird side of youtube again and I went from Joe Rogan Wacko Hot ass fan to Mystery who is a famous pick up artist. Does anyone else find a relation between Jiu Jitsu and picking up women? I found out that there is actually a huge internet community around it and they have a shitload of crazy lingo.

Just thought this was interesting when I was listening to Joe Rogan talk about how eddie had a phase in his life where he would try to pickup any girl and told a funny story of a stripper complaining how "godless" LA was at some gym.

What do you guys think?

There's a great book by Neil Strauss called "The Game" that gives the story of the pick up artist community. Neil is a writer who once toured with Motley Crue and didn't get laid a single time. After discovering the pick up community, he becomes so good at picking up women that he begins teaching seminars on the subject. "Mystery" appears prominently in the book. It would make a great movie.

While I didn't find any correlation between the book and jiu jitsu, I did find a lot connections between pick up artist skills and just general business dealings with people. The techniques used to close a deal with a female are much like the ones used to close any business deal. I really enjoyed the book.
