The long and short of it

guys, i train at a school that mostly does work with the gi. i only really get a chance to work no gi stuff in my own time at home with a buddy or my brother. i'm looking to buy a rashguard because i've been rolling with a t-shirt and shorts and find myself constantly getting heat and friction rashes.

the question i have is which would be better for me, a long or short rashguard? what are the benefits and restrictions of the two?

also the rashguard type tights i see alot of guys wearing in the MTS videos, what are they called and can anyone reccommend a good site to buy from?

Man your missing out on the fine details that the hotbox players can hep you with. Anyway you might as well get long sleeve rashy. If you worried about covering your legs as well get running tights with no zippers or a base layer type of clothing for your legs. Check you local sporting goods chain.

It could be a good idea to even go to the hotbox only once or twice a week, if you really want to do 10th planet stuff.

You probably would like a long sleeve more, with short sleeves when your dry you still get a lil burn on your arms sometimes. For the tights, you are correct they are called tights or leggings. I suggest just going to walmart and buying a 10$ pair of compression leggings for those.

Paul anytime you wanna make the journey up to 10th Planet Birmingham jus give us a shout. Granted its a couple hrs travelling but it would be worth it to learn from Mick and have a roll with everyone here, we got some great guys who I'm sure you would benefit from training with a couple times a year.

Sean Bollinger graces us with his skills in the fom of a 3hr seminar next month too so if ever you wanted to train with a badass black belt under Eddie then theres your chance!

    Awesome avatar btw.

    thanks for the advice all.

thanks for the invite Chris, i will definitely consider coming up for the seminar next month if i can convince a friend of mine to travel with me. It's great to be part of such a friendly community in jiu jitsu!

also the avatar is by an artist named Luke Chueh, his stuff is amazing!
