there are a lot of persians here in l.a.. and i don't think i've ever met a single one who has referred to himself/herself as "iranian". it's always persian. are the persians/iranians here in l.a. different?

Not to make a huge generalization cause of course they're not all the same but LA persians are the quidos of the persian community. Majority are super rich which you can guess how that influences them. They also don't share the same values etc.. much more detached from the culture. They refer to themselves as persian only because they don't want to be associated with Iran.. many of the original LA persians fled the country and are not allowed to return, among other things.

With saying that I was just making a joke.. Sister goes to school in LA and I've visited many times.. communities different but not bad or at least not all of them. And as far as Iran is concerned.. the gov is terrible but everyone agrees on that.. Also I was born and raised in Texas.. I just associate with both cultures and am a citizen of both countries.
