    Jake Shields made Dan Henderson look like a child on the ground. He completely dominated him. Finished 3rd at ADCC back in 2005. Has some of the best MMA oriented grappling you will see. His game is amazing to watch.

    When the top people are at the top of their game, it sort of comes down to what tools you have in your tool box. They are both the truely special strikers. My theory is then it comes down to how their skill sets interact. Machida is an amazing striker.

    Fundamentally though, if you dont have a check, your an easy target. It surprises me how far MMA fighters seem to be able to get when they cant check a kick. Getting out of the way is only a defence against people slower than you.

    He wasnt that awesome in the strikeforce fight against hendo tho.
    And Hedo was a beast in pride. but he is OLD now, and it would be strange if a young guy with some skill didnt beat him
