911 is a conspiracy theory and most people AND politicians believe tower 7 collapsed at free fall speed because it got too hot. Only a very few people at the top know exactly what really happened. Most people think 911 truthers are full of shit :-)

Jack Herer is the emperor of hemp, the godfather of the marijuana movement and he says the prohibition of weed is a conspiracy so I'm gonna go with him on this one, he's a bad muthafucka :-)

I'm not exactly sure I'm getting you on the 911 stuff.

Jack was a great man. I didn't know him but we got to smoke at a little event he was at once up here. I have the emperor wears no clothes and have been familiar with his work for many years. He left a great legacy of hemp/cannabis advocacy and activism, no doubt. One of the first guys I ever read on the subject. The links I posted are in regard to some of his ideas. Like I said, its a matter of opinion.

So you're saying that they first got scientific evidence that Cannabis is harmless under Anslinger, yet he still believed it was an evil drug? Then he believed it was evil because he wanted to spread misinformation, he just ignored the science and continued his vendetta to make it illegal. If that isn't a conspiracy, then 9/11 was aliens.

Dude, Cannabis is EVERYWHERE, I've also grown up around it, your location is pretty irrelevant. It's like me saying I'm right about The Beatles because I live in Liverpool.

A conspiracy theory explains an event as being the result of an alleged plot by a covert group or organization or, more broadly, the idea that important political, social or economic events are the products of secret plots that are largely unknown to the general public.

Event: Immensely beneficial plant is illegal.
Plot: Don't let people have access to beneficial plant, force them to use dangerous pharmaceuticals and non-renewable resources instead to give us more money.

Hemp is used now for food, construction, clothing, etc. It definitely wouldn't be "decades" before it took off, as it's already widely used.

Well on location being irrelevant, you just simply don't know what you're saying. Your bettles analogy is a mile off. If they were still all alive and formed the number one source of income for your county, many times over the seconds place you'd be getting closer. The price of a pound of weed is a news story here buddy. You can see a friend of mine in the minidocumnetry at his dispensary.

Yes some of the first research indicating that cannabis is harmless was found under anslinger. Yes, he believed the scientist were wrong. Many people even today for various reasons choose not to belive data.

Again, matter of opinion. I happened to have some pretty stacked credentials when its comes to the topic. In my op, I made what I think are some worthwhile points. In response I linked to some very well written articles that refute point for point Jacks take on history. None of that has been addressed or refuted. If no ones willing to read beyond what they already think they know we're all just going to stick with what we already believe.

For these reasons, unsubscribed. I was really after Eddies interpretation of how he sees this fitting the definition of conspiracy theory or how he defines a conspiracy theory. I don't tell people I think DNA is a double helix because James Watson thinks so.

If you've never been to Europe, we don't have the benefit of Medical Marijuana to use it as a source of income, it's been illegal since day one of the prohibition era. Even in Amsterdam it's illegal, just tolerated. A lot of Amsterdam's income is drug tourism, too. If cannabis was legalised tomorrow, it would become one of the top sources of income for the whole of the United Kingdom.

Like I said, cannabis grows everywhere. Whether it's on a large scale or small, it's a plant. The fact is, your location IS irrelevant. You don't have to live in a county where Cannabis is grown on a large scale to understand it. Your plants probably grow way better in the climate there, of course, but growing is just simple science that anybody can learn, regardless of location. It's like you saying that a Brazilian black belt has more credentials than an English black belt, just because of where he is from, and that is certainly not true.

The Beatles, actually, are a pretty hefty source of income for Liverpool. Tourists every single day flock here because of them. A lot of them are Japanese and know way more than I do about The Beatles. You know why? It's called research.

So you agree that Anslinger ignored science and continued to spread misinformation? You also agree that people still ignore Science to this day, for their own personal vendettas, to keep Marijuana illegal. That my friend, is a conspiracy.
