Here is the video of my loss from the weekend. Kind of sucks not being able to post a clip of another win for 10P like all the other videos posted this weekend, but next time it'll happen. Didn't catch the guys name, but he competed in gi later in the day with a blue belt that looks more worn than not.

I'm in the rashguard, he shot in for a single which I tried to counter with a guillotine that he pulled out of on the ground. From there double unders with lockdown to electric chair sweep (watching the video on my computers screen it looks like he was almost going to tap with his left hand. How long do you guys hold on for the sub before completing the sweep? It felt like I was stretching him out for a good 4-5 seconds, when it turned out to be one or two.) He recovered was able to recover guard, throws up a loose triangle and attacks the trapped arm. The inverted armbar he taps me with came on quick and there was some definite crunching going on at the elbow joint. Still sore today, but not enough to keep me off the mats.



I'm gonna be reviewing the MTS that touch on the electric chair and guillotines. Any advice for the particular brand of armbar I got caught with will also be much appreciated.

Other than getting tapped though, it was a great day. Big thanks goes out to Tony Garcia and Jon Helton. When I got to the site, couldn't find anyone from 10P Charlotte, so Tony hooks me up with Jon Helton's number, but Jon wasn't able to make it either, so he in turn hooks me up with Jeremy Arel. Jeremy, thanks for being cool as hell and letting me hang with you and your crew. I can't think of too many BJJ black belts who would not only let a stranger fighting under a different school (that you have never met before in your entire life, no less) hang with you and your students, but also to offer to coach me, you sir are cool as hell and I'm glad I got to meet you. 10th Planet is a family and I'm glad Great Grappling is a part of 10th Planet!

There were also a couple people that just came up and started asking about 10P after seeing my rashguard. I told 'em to come check out the forums when they get the chance, so if you guys I talked to are lurking, welcome to the forum!

For inverted armbar usually you can turn your wrist over like your looking at your watch while shooting your arm in deeper behind their head but stacking him wouldve given him the chance to tighten the triangle. Not sure if I explained the inv armbar defense right without showing a video. It looks like he put some work into his crooked guard. Maybe one of the higher belts can see more than me or give better tips

Yeah, I didn't stack for letting him set the triangle in, but I guess I should have stacked into him and tried to keep his right leg pinched down as best as I could and postured like hell when my arm was safe. Anyone else?

Also setting up the vaporizer after the electric chair sweep was in one of the MTS videos I looked into. I think I'll start drilling that, but does anyone have another move after rolling to the vaporizer. Just trying to think one step ahead and not just having to totally resort to a scramble.

Sorry I couldn't be there man, I had some things come up unexpectedly that weekend. That's the first NAGA Charlotte I missed in 4 yrs I think.

Overall not bad, just a couple things I saw. You need to pop up to your elbow in trying to finish the electric chair. It looks like you are on your shoulder. You can stretch their ass out even more when up on you elbow. Nice sweep though, just need to work on getting a clean pass. It looks like he just framed and through you into to a ungly triangle. Work on cutting your hips when someone frames like that...aka reverse sit. So that you are facing away from them, kind of like an ugly twister side. Make sense?
