This Was My Win For 3rd Place In Mens Adult Division No-Gi.

My win at New York State Open Saturday. I won the teen gi and no gi and moved up to the adult division.
Went 7-3 for the day. Only loses in the adult division. Same guy twice for double elimination. Kick myself still for that one. I was way up on points like 10-3 and went for the finish with 40 seconds left and got caught with armbar. My dad said I was being greedy and shouldn't have went for it with a guy that much stronger then me.Lol.
He's probably right but I would rather go out on my shield than hideing behind it.Lol.

    good job.
There is a difference between hiding behind your shield and using it for defense.

Dan completely agree. thats what my dad tried to explain. I was in complete control in the match I lost. He said it's not stalling if I'm working and waiting for him to make a mistake. I got in a hurry before the opening was there and got cought. He explained he was the one stalling just trying to survive and not get tapped, because he wasn't doing anything to get out from under my control. I pushed it and let his strength overpower me because I put myself in a bad spot trying to rush the submission.

I learn a little bit everytime I roll. This match was right after I lost and I waited until I was sure my choke was there.

^^^^^ Jason hahahha. No it was the New York State Games. They also had tradtional karate sparring going on in other rings. But they shared judges who knew how to score both. But that would be a truely gay BJJ gi. It had satin on it.Lol.

Thanks Emir. Fighting a 16 year old kid out of Erie PA. I guess he's a beast. I have never seen him fight but my dad reffed a match where he did. He told me if I don't have my shit together I'm going to get knocked out. Guess I better have my shit together.Lol.
