I tapped to that twice tonight. Anybody that calls that a lame tap or calls me bitch for it has to spend five minutes in Herzog's guard first.

The lamest tap I ever got rolling was to twister side control. I was just in good position and the pressure was enough he couldn't breathe, gassed, and tapped. I'm like 175.

the most lame tap i ever got was doing something i call the chogey. from side control i take the arm by the head, wrap it behind the neck, with my other arm i push their far elbow up and pass it to the hand behind i wrapped behind the neck and sort of do a one armed side mounted nelson. must have had a twinge in his neck or something.

the most lame tap i ever did myself was when i was first getting into it i was grappling a dude who had me mounted. after a few matches and about 5 minutes with this guy i was winded. we both were inexperienced so he didnt know what to do but squeeze my head and i didnt know how to get him off plus i was gassed. so i just tapped his ribs and said "dude this is going nowhere."

I've had a guy tap to chill dawg. I'm kinda boney though so it can't be comfortable.
I think the worst is when guys tap when they can't get out of a position. Not because they're gassed or cause I'm applying a submission just cause they basically give up cause they don't recognize what you have then in and don't know how to get out. Usually I'm working towards something and that really grinds my gears being cut short like that.

In a tourney about a month ago a guy had me in a lame lockdown, I placed my forearm across his neck and grabbed his trap to apply a little downward pressure so that he would feel uncomfortable ........TAP TAP..... Most guys would've tried to push the arm past the neck entirely or use their lockdown to relieve the pressure. Guess he was in an unfamiliar position.

I usually ask them if if somthing hurts, or if they are being choked, if they say "no, I just don't know what to do" i say "well then that tap doesn't count" then continue on with what I'm doing. The tap has significant meaning, they need to learn to respect it, it is not a "get out of jail free card".

I think it's a pretty dick move to call people pansy's or bitches because they tap to something we wouldn't. Some people have a lower pain threshold then others, why hold that against them?

Because large part of Jiu Jitsu is sensitive and kinesthetic awareness, you have to learn the difference between pain and potential injury. However I don't agree with calling them a pansy, but learning the difference and developing a tolerance to "pain" and pushing your body pass what was previously a limitation in part of progress.
