Jan 19th Sub Only Tournament in Omaha

What's up guys. Jan 19th 2013 marks the return of the Midwest Submission Challenge. A gi and no gi submission only jiujitsu tournament.

Our first event was incredible. Lots of great matches. Consolation matches win or lose. Plus a positive fun atmosphere. This one promises to be even better.

It's in Omaha Nebraska so if you can make Gracie nationals and are in the area come out and wave the 10th planet banner with us.
Same rules as the Gracie nationals.

Check out www.midwestsubmissionchallenge.com for more info

This will be the first jiu jitsu tourney Ive been in, and have teammates in my class and weight division. you guys think its better to move up in weight or experience. It either Lt Heavyweight 186 lbs-205 lbs at -Adult Beginner (Less than 2 years experience) or Middleweight 171 lbs-185 lbs at -Adult Intermediate ( 2 to 4 years experience) ? thoughts plz

Move experience dealing with a higher weight class sucks and is frustrating especially if he just lays on you. At least if you move up in experience the worst that happens is you get beat by someone who should beat you based on skill, best case scenario you run through those guys at intermediate level and just shit on them and prove to yourself your game is better than you probably think. Or you look back and realize that's where you need to be at the next competition if they get the better of you. :-)
