    Homie control issue?

Well getting homie control is very hard as most guys will either stall in your guard or posture up and getting the arm and head traped seems very very hard against anyone that trained more than 6 months?lol

Like most moves it all about assessing the situation mate. I try it only if I have underhooks, I dont fight for the hooks to get it, I usually just go for something else.( also I usually try climbing the back if I get the arm inn instead of going for it) If they posture I usually got for the RB and go with that, if that doesnt work I try to get some wrist control and go from there and so on.

There are some many techniques you can use from the guard other then going for homie control, so take ur time with it, and train for using it in situations were you feel its natural to go for it, just like everything else.

I have used Homie Control against very high level competitors. It's a big part of my game. There is a lot you can do from that position. BUT, like everything else, it's not 100%. If it doesn't work, go right away to something else. One thing I like about Homie Control is that it is so tight when done right. I love it. "When done right, no can escape".

Robert, its hard to get against good jiu jitsu guys, becasue your still a beginner. You have to put the time and reps ino a technique to make it work, we all do. Take your time, be patient and keep putting the work in, the results will come.

Try anything against someone with 15 years and let me know how that goes.

Try next time someone postures up in your guard to use homie to break them down. I saw Epstien do something similar plus you can apply a lot of force with that inside elbow. The guy is usually too busy trying to regain his posture to stop you from locking it in and moving to you next position

Oh I almost forgot.....I Homie control problem. This is what works for me.

If the arm does not come out so easy, as you pull the body pyramid into psoition, if you have enough space......I place my right foot against their left hip for leverage and then push hard off the hip while posturing and the arm pops out every time!!!
