From the guy's I know in Scotland...they prefer to be called travellers... the Roma aren't the
only race....we have Indigenous Scottish and some Irish travellers and also some Roma. Some people hate on them but I have to say I like the way they look after their families and communities..tough people.Last edited by Johnnie McIntyre; 01-14-2013 at 03:31 PM.

Your right, they are two different nomadic peoples with some similarities.
Yeah, seems like they are widely disliked. People seems to feel they are dishonest, generally. Just search gypsy and crime. Like you said there are some things you have to respect about them.
How do the police handle mutual combat over there? Here you'd get booked into jail and likely charged with assault.

The Police and the general public (gorgers) don't see most of the arranged fights...most arrests here are involved in moving camps from public or private land.
