Red face Full Guard, getting smothered, help!!

I've got a good half guard, pretty good rubber and prison, but my full guard not so great. We were rolling mma sparring and he landed in my full guard. He avoided my rubber guard by pressing forward and giving me head shots. He was not really stacking, just keeping forward pressure. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hip out to create an angle to work from.
If both your butt cheeks are planted then you are not going to have the mobility you need to threaten with your guard.
My game: I like to either get double hard leg curls with my knees squeezed and my heels hard down their spine to pull my hips up and make my opponent carry that weight, or run one leg further over them while up on one hip to threaten the back or a sweep. Shifting and rocking between both hips with the hard leg curls is very destabilizing and makes my opponent more conscious of their base and less attention on preventing me from breaking them down to set up RG.

You have to master clinching with your upper body via over and underhooks. Otherwise you will get smashed.

Thanks, I was attempting to get to my side, but the constant pressure kept resetting me. I will work on my clinch, I know it needs work. I rarely use full guard so I don't cross my legs with any pressure, or move with a sound purpose, due to my lack of experience in this position. Usually I just try to get to half or prison, but could not make it work this time. The constant punches were disrupting my train of thought as well.

Not sure if I'm picturing the scenario correctly, but I think a foot on the hip would help....? Maybe sit up to the coccoon with your butterflies and work from there?

Is he on his knees or feet? In between punches where are his hands? Biceps, underhook and pulling the shoulders? Is his head next to yours or is he driving into your chin?

Trying to get the foot on the hip but the constant forward pressure and his body position won't allow my legs to come up. This is like the first time this has happened to me. I can get the grip for prison from time to time but the downward forward pressure keeps nullifying any chances of getting to my side. He is keeping me square on my back, and not really looking to advance his position. I was pretty tired even when we first started rolling, but I should still have been able to do something. I don't know, thought maybe this has happened to another 10th planet player.

I was pretty tired, not really sure, he seemed to be switching, and my hands would go up when the shots came in. I was trying to move up and away to get the foot on the hip, or get to my side, but I couldn't find a place to push off, and again the constant forward pressure kept resetting me, and then more shots to the head messed up my train of thought. Frustrating, but showed me that I need some work.

You Def need to clinch. Especially in the scenarios where punching is involved.

As Bobby stated, there is a lot going on in ground and pound. A lot more than most realize before getting involved with it. Think of it almost as its own system of offensive and defensive techniques with tiny details always going on. One thing that can help is to be constantly pushing and pulling his body with your legs when he is trying to punch(push him away with your legs explosively and pull him back into you explosively over and over again, back and forth). This will keep him off balance and occasionally cause him to have to post an arm or 2 out. If you are at least forcing him to constantly move back and forth, that is less time he is hitting you and planning his next G+P attack, and give you a chance to calm down and get your thoughts together.

Also you can control someone decently with just 1 overhook and pushing their head away from you. Can be done after slipping to the inside of a punch. Just be careful cuz if you replace your hand with an elbow while pushing their head away they might take an elbow to the face.
