Hey guys, I've been thinking about this question for a while now and I'd like to get some collective opinions from you guys since I'm pretty sure the majority of you are pro-marijuana. So here it is...
At what age do you think it is acceptable/appropriate/not-harmful/etc to introduce a person to smoking marijuana?
Personally, I went through all of high school believing that because I had asthma, if I smoked pot I was risking my life. Being a prominent high school athlete I also believed that if I smoked pot I was throwing my athletic ability down the drain. It wasn't until the age of 18 that I said fuck it and realized that was all a bunch of crap. (my asthma was non-existent just a year later, go figure) Anyway, I ask because I have a 15 year old brother (high school freshman), and while he is well aware that I am as pro-marijuana as you can be, I still tell him not to try it until senior year of high school at the earliest. He is a stellar student, was valedictorian of his middle school class, so I don't want it to possibly get in the way of his focus and educational drive. I feel slightly hypocritical thinking this way but I guess it's the protective older brother in me. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance for weighing in!
