I like Fitch.
But he isn't the best at anything and he doesn't put together great strategies IMO.

because watching paint dry is way more intertaining then watching him fight. How many times has Eddie said that wrestlers who don't pass guard and set up submissions days are numberd ? perhaps a million times, the ufc is growing past needing fighters that are just tough and can grind out wins, now you have to actually be entertaining. why would I pay to watch Fitch when i can watch Anthony Pettis fly off the cage! That makes sense derrick, the UFC is a business after all... But im not sure i agree with making the guy lose his job (that he is very good at) just because his style doesn't appeal to the majority of fans. I dont find fitch exciting... But i appreciate how good he is at what he does, how hard he works, and how tough he is.
Dont quote me on this but didnt he just have a fight of the night award in one of his most recent fights?
It just seems strange cutting a guy that is clearly top ten.

People say this delegitimizes the sport. In a way, yes. In a way, not really. IMO, the only guys who really need to be in the UFC are guys who can be a legit threat to the champ. Fitch was destroyed by GSP. Since then, he's shown nothing to prove that he has improved and can threaten the title. So what? The UFC should keep him so that he can wrestle hump the next contender and ruin a potentially great PPV? It doesn't make sense. This is a business. Fitch is bad for business. He's boring. And the BEST he can do is break a contender's streak by out wrestling them for 3 rounds. There's just no more niche for Fitch.
Add to that how anti fan he is. When criticized, his response is pretty much to insult the fans. Then his recent complaining about not getting paid enough because his dumb ass made a bad investment and some dumb financial choices....and he's so boring that sponsors don't want to sponsor and people won't show up to his signings. He shot himself in the foot. He puts on a bad show. He insults the fans. He complains. And he never improved one bit since his loss to GSP. He wore out his welcome. I've been saying it for years. The moment that Fitch drops two, the UFC will cut him. He's THAT bad for business.
