In that case you want Jeff's dvd. There is a scenario if I remember correctly where the guy is standing and you engage him and put him in your deep half.. Same approach with a stomp can be done.

I saw this "unknown dude" at Kids Pan AM a few weeks ago. Still sporting that Elvis hair cut... I've been researching and there are so many great JJ players out there and so many killer techniques. Don't really have the time to learn from all of them. So we are sticking with 2 of our favorite.... Master Eddie and Marcelo. I used to search for techniques online, but since we been on MTS, no need to do that anymore. Its working, its only been a week since Cora got started with her 1/4 guard game and she's already showing improved confidence in her guard. She is hunting for that leg only now, not putting pressure on herself to get that full guard. She's starting to transform her game again with the 1/4 guard. We still have about 3 wks left until her next tournament, so that should be plenty of time to polish it up.

Glover just grabs the leg on a standing opponent and rotates underneath. Perry simple.

So standing opponent, your on your ass, grab around leg, rotate underneath. Most guys will fall to defend, otherwise you'll just take their back

Bruce, I think I understand your question. For me, If a guy is standing up switch to the x- guard. Look online like youtube you'll for sure find someone who transitions to x guard form the position you are talking about. Or buy the book. X-Guard by marcelo it has for sure helped my game. I'm so excited. This evening is a turning point for Cora big time!!!! The "horny chiuaua" works like a charm. Friday is no gi day, and she pull out everything on her training partner. Let me tell you, this kid is a green belt in Judo and has always tapped Cora out at will. Everything I've learned and taugh Cora does not work on him as he has about 40 lbs on her. But not today... she went for him with the Black mamba then went into the horny chiuaua that force him to sit down and try to pass her guard, but she was already fighting for the lockdown and that double underhooks. Once she got the lockdown, he tried to roll out of it, she jumped on his back and work on the RNC. Since he was so big, she couldn't do the anaconda on him. He stood up and tried to shake her off. He finally shooked her off after about a minute of just seatbelting him. Then Cora shoot in with that Black Mamba again. For the 1st time in over 2 years he was actually fear to get in her guard. THank you 10thplanet!!!!!!!!!!!
