We were all blown away when Eddie spoke of his appreciation of Mick's skills last night following the seminar.
Largely coming from exclusively MMA and no gi backgrounds, listening to Eddie speak about the level of many of the expert ungraded grapplers like Mick and Matt Horwich made the night especially memorable.
The seminar itself was epic and just like in Sweden Eddie's artistry shone through.
But the Purple Rock star promotion was something we hadnt prepared for. At all.
All along Eddie has expressed how impressed he has been with Mick as a grappler. It is obvious he is not a blue belt, but at the same time it's definitely necessary to go through the ranks in order to gain the ultimate grade and everybody is in agreement on that.
We've never had a gi class at 10th Planet Birmingham so the belts themselves are not lying around the place. It seemed ludicrous that in a room of over 70 grapplers there was not an actual purple belt in the house!
But this wasnt a problem for Eddie who upgraded the blue belt using a Purple Rockstar Energy Drink and some Duct tape.
