Housing advice in LA area

Hey guys,

Would be much obliged if you LA locals would help me find a cheap apartment / hostel / room to rent for a month since I am planning on coming to HQ for a training vacation.

Found some things on the net that look affordable but are pretty far away from the actual training site which is not a problem if the apartment is near one of you guys so I can bum a ride downtown . Also I presume you guys probably have a better overview of the rental situation since you are on the spot.

My date of arrival depends on my work & flight situation ( murder transitions from my country ), but 99% that its July or August.

I am coming over to LA next year .My son and I will be training .My wife will be maxing out my credit card at the shops.We will be over for 3 weeks .Any good hotels near to Eddie's .Are there any places/areas to avoid?

I had a look a few months back but the hotels were a little expensive for my budget..especially if staying for 3 to 4 weeks! I was looking at the Ramada on W Olympic Blvd.. from memory it was quite close?

I stayed at the Biltmore Millenium while I was on my traincation last week, it was about a miles walk one way to the gym which I didn't mind. It was expensive even with the deal I found on one of those hotel sites online. If you are staying for a long time I would definitely suggest trying couchsurfing.org or something like it.

Just to check the HQ is at w pico blvd 400, not at tapout gym or somewhere else?

HQ is at Tapout. That is the correct address 400 S Pico Blvd LA 90015. I don't know where any hostels are nearby, but there has to be some. Tons of hotels but definitely pricey. I would try a craigslist sublet or airbnb.com or the couch surfing website, not sure what it is though you'll have to google it. Keep in mind though, there is no such thing as "cheap" in LA.
