I guess a few of you already know, but i'm on the Special Operations Wounded Warrior Games team.
Last week I trained with Olympians at ESPN in Disney World. Hell, I even got an award handed to me by Mickey himself!
The week prior in AZ, I snuck in a night of JJ with Mr. Yoda himself- John Botello. Where he showed me that he can guillotine me and leg lock me at the same time. YA, I KNOW!
I trained a few months ago with Derek Stewart, Wow. He's creating real life ninjas. Absolutely LOVE his practice and style. So clean and easy, it opened my eyes.
2-3 Months ago I visited Drew Ash in Boulder. He is a gentle soul. His JJ is almost an Art. Very good. I feel bad for muscling the lil guy...i prob have 40-50 pounds on the dude...Poor guy haha. Super nice guy, glad hes close to me.
About 6 months ago, We had Chris Herzog and Jeremy "The Gerbil" out at my old gym in Florida. When Zog started I learned more about PROPER leg locks in 10 mins, than I ever knew in my life. It was a shotgun of knowledge...and I know I can take the entire bag, but Zog...well...he came cloooose... :/ I got cocky and tried to leg lock him...which I do not recommend.
Jeremy showed us so much pure technique. He was the kinda guy that liked clean and easy jiu jitsu...flowing rather than brut force. Or thats what I got from it.
Anyway, Just wanted to say YO. I'm not gone. Not yet anyway
I'm heading back to Florida (I live in Colorado now, BTW) for another training session at the University in Tampa. Heading out Monday for that. I'll check back on here from time to time, but this is a shitload of training haha. I'll be back to make fun of your ugly faces when the Games are over in May. SMOOCHES!!!!
