Thank you einstein. Im behind the redwood curtain on the lost coast. Humboldt has its perks but variety of gyms is not among them. Im at the only no-gi gym for a long way.

You guys may not believe this but although I thought there could be politics involved I didn't even think about the TLI connection. I have had good interactions with the Avellons and just that they answer emails from a random white belt like me is pretty cool. Since posting this thread and before the fight started tonight I looked into this whole scandal. All I can say is I sincerely hope the Avellons distance themselves from Lloid Irvin. Sorry for bring this drama to the forum.

Don't know the avellans personally but I remember a bunch of people complaining about both Avellan and Lovato had ripped hem off somehow with online payments. Somehow signing up for one thing automatically set card holders up to pay for a years worth, which was not all above board, something of that nature. They all came off lookin very shady.

yes I remember. Something like you brought the DVD and it automatically subscribed you to some monthly payment bullshit without giving you any notice.
Also one of the Avellan brothers (David I believe) has released this 'black belt psychology'. He is NOT a psychologist LOL. I guarantee at his seminars he is heavily 'pushing products'. :-)

All I've gotten from them is a ton of free videos with what I feel is worthwhile content. To be fair people have problems with internet billing everywhere, even here.
Marcos released black belt psychology and he makes no claim to be a psychologist nor is it meant to be implied by the title. I didnt pay for it but what I've seen was some very worthwhile insights in to various aspects of combat sports, whatever else they maybe the avellons are not stupid, some of the points Marcos makes are excellent and interesting to think about.
