Dong Hyun Kim was the last date for UFC on Fuel: Silva vs. Stann as he defeated Siyar Bahadurzada but it seems it is uncertain if we will see him in the octagon for a while. Cor MMA announces now that Dong Hyun Kim will participate in this year's ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club). It was initially thought that he would participate in ADCC Asia to get a seat but he finally got a direct spot.

"I am really happy about this opportunity, but I am overpriced a bit disappointed in a way. It was not going to be easy, but I was confident That I would be Able to win at ADCC Asia. I really wanted to show my skills to everyone in Japan, " says Kim Cor MMA.

He will compete in the 88-kg class, where big names like Andre Galvao , Braulio Estima and Pablo Popovitch will participate. All three have picked home several medals in both the World Championships and ADCC and Galvao was the one who later took the gold medal. Additionally, it will Rousimar Palhares to be in the same weight class.

Kim is aware that it is a tough class to compete in, but he believes they can win against anyone and also believe that he has an advantage in that championship yesterday in China.

"It is not my fighting weight and I know some of the best grapplers are in. That weight class. I still believe if my condition is 100%, I can compete with anyone. Another reason thatwill help me Is that I will not have jet lag Because ADCC 2013 will take place in China. I am confident That I can beat anyone, ". "Right now, ADCC is even more important than the UFC for me."

He hopes that a high ranking can give him a rematch in the UFC with deman Maia after the disappointing loss in their last match.

"Ultimately, my goal is to place at ADCC 2013th I do not think the UFC will be Able to deny me a rematch against Demian Maia if I specimen my grappling abilities at the biggest grappling competition in the world. "

ADCC 2013 will be held in Beijing, China on 19 and 20 October. Would Kim successfully win a gold medal, he would certainly prove that he is one of the best grapplers in the world and simultaneously join the crowd UFC fighter Rani Yahya , Demian Maia , Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza , Roger Gracie , Vinny Magalhaes and Fabricio Werdum previously took gold in ADCC.

How far he will get in the tournament?

Is Palhares confirmed competing again at ADCC? I'm sure the main point that stun gun is competing is true, but I'm not sure about the competitors they're referencing. Galvao and Estima shouldn't be in the division because they will be fighting each other in the Super fight. Braulio won the super fight last and Galvao is the reigning absolute champ. Regardless, I'm stoked for ADCC 2013. Can't wait to see all of my favourite grapplers go at it, along with some fresh new blood into the competition, like the Red Destroyer, Keenan and Darson

Exactly. Braulio and Galvao are tied up in the Superfight. With Palharres anything can happen. He's been invited but who knows what will come of it. I hope he does. He had a hard time making -88k last time, and I heard he may be going up to -99k this year too.

for -88k the big names are definitely Lovato Jr, Romulo Barral, Pablo Popvitch, and Keenan Cornelius. I think Dong will do okay. I saw his Trials matches. He had a couple tight subs but couldn't get the finish. He seems to have trouble finishing people sometimes. I think depending on how the brackets are he could win a match. It's going to be stacked so I don't know if I see him winning the quarter finals.

Yea being invited and confirming you are coming are two different things. A few years back, I swear they had half the UFC roster invited, and almost all the UFC guys who had been invited didn't end up making it because they were booked for fights. In recent times, there have been guys who have worked around fights, Vinny and Vagner Rocha come to mind, but we'll see where the chips fall. For the most part, for obvious reasons, the pure sport jiu jitsu guys always end up doing best. Palharres was an exception to the rule and did great, but I also heard that he had major issues making weight and didn't enter the absolute specifically because he was so dehydrated, cramped and deteriorated from his weight cut. It'd be nice to see him fight guys his size this time around He seemed to be huge compared to practically everyone he fought and it will be interesting if he competes again to see if people in his division have prepared to adjust to his style as people do to fighters with unique skills sets (although Dean Lister might have something to say to counter that point...)

I thought the UFC wasnt too keen on letting their fighters compete in other competitions like this. Even though theres no striking, because of the risk of injury keeping them out of fights.

The Shiek (better yet his Entertainment company) owns a quarter of the UFC, I think it's one of those special circumstances that the Fertita overlook by letting their fighters compete in ADCC. IBJJF they have no reason to gain by letting there fighters compete at those events, it's also a high risk/low reward for the fighters.
