Eating healthy isn't as expensive as most think. Our produce bill for the month four our family of four is around 125 if you buy meat in bulk your looking at another 100 a month. Most people spend at least this much in eating out and boozing.
I don't eat out that often. Namely because I have to pay my divorce attorney. I don't really drink because I prefer to use beer and wine to cook with. (There's also the fact that I'm genetically predisposed to alcoholism, so I don't really keep alcohol in the house.)I try to make as much food as I can from scratch. When I'm able to do that, I can control my weight. Depending on what I make, I use about 4 pounds of meat a month. I did splurge this month and bought a pound of buffalo burger for $20. Made for an awesome chili when mixed with pork. Especially if you marinate them in Guinness Stout.
