This is more along the lines of what I am thinking. I think the guy's long arms, and the angle of his wrist make it something almost new rather than a guillotine. Hell he choked the guy to sleep when the guy was in side control on him. The angle of the hands, seem to me to make trying something like a von flue choke futile, as it would only make you go out faster.
From just seeing it a few times on TV, it seems to be the sort of choke that you dont get out of once it is set, and to keep it from getting set you have to be willing to roll into the arm and completely sacrifice position while hand fighting the other hand the whole time.
I think it could be more a body type choke (best used by guys with long arms in light weight classes) but alot of techniques work better for certain body types over others, it looks to me to be a killer move the guy has down pat.
As for the Guillotine defense comments from folks on thread, I guess you missed the fact the guy passed to side control, where its supposed to be impossible to get choked with a guillotine?
