Anyone have any idea why this would be more effective then closing hand into a fist like Nick showed.

It was more than satisfying to see him go down so quickly (without knowing to try for the Von Flu!).

Conner -you should totally be HIS coach! His philosophy-mindset-and-humility coach. The attitude that you and your Dad show here on the forum are about 10,000% more impressive than this guy. When I heard about your connection to him originally, I was psyched to watch him on the show. Now? -Good riddance.
I was thinking about that for almost the whole episode. I know that some of TUF is the "character" they develop by showing you what they choose to show you, but what they showed me of Marc made me REALLY want to see him get beat. I liked Cody from the beginning and I was way impressed with that guillotine -- mostly because the whole team KNEW it was coming and Stevens still couldn't stop it. I like that kind of fighter. I've never been much of a Koscheck fan but I was willing to stay loyal to fellow 10th Planeteer and root for Marc alone from Team Koscheck. After about 5min of that episode I couldn't wait for him to catch a beating. I think he'll be a strong contender for the wild card though.

I have always done my guillotines like that sinse I started. It was impressive that he went out so quick in side control though. I was rooting for cody I want GSP team to dominate. the only fighter I wanted to win on kos team was Nam Phan and he did win.

It doesnt look like anything special, because you have not been around this very long. Trust me, its impressive. EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. he has beaten he beats with it, every single one of them knows its coming, dont you think, just maybe all those guys probably have better guillotine defense that you do (I am guessing you are a white belt with under 18 months training) and yet you still dont think its impressive? Once around the block a few times, I think your tune will change.

Jeff, you obviously haven't gone against anybody with a top guillotine. Your time will come,

Found it.. the setup is totally different but the grip seems similar.

its like that, but if u watch cody's TUF intro vid he shows your how he does it, in stead of making that fist like nick does he had the palms touching and fingers locked together.
    its a badass choke

I was watching it over and over in slow-motion. He literally sprawls into a one armed guillotine control and salvages a submission. You get the feeling that he can catch those things from any shot.
