It kinda of funny that sometime bjj school is like high school when you see different clicks that roll with each other....i try to roll with anyone to get the experience, but i do see that some peolple have clicks...lol
yeah..just saying in general i see it as some dont want to get hurt, train hard, get beat or lose to a white belt!lol I was just wondering if it was at other gyms?
When I first started training 5 years ago it was because my buddy randomly told me about a free lesson with Pedro Sauer at Jeff Gordon's Self Defense Academy and so I went with him and one other guy, and for the first couple months we were pretty shy and thus tried to stick to rolling with only each other (when we could), and one of us would always get stuck with the random partner, but once we got comfortable with the sport and the rolling with random people thing, we started expanding, and finally ended up rejecting rolling with each other and trying to only roll with the other people in the class because we realized we could roll with each other any time. So yea, i think the "cliques" in the gym are just groups of friends who aren't truly comfortable with the sport yet.
i never got why people didnt roll with stragers.. i mean, sure, when you are new it makes sense, but i like rolling with someone i dont know, its always a question of what you might encounter, what they know, their defense, how they react to certain things
oh haha yeah, ive seen people who avoid certain people, I always find it funny
Yeah I see this as well.. makes me facepalm and laugh. But as far as rolling clicks definitely a lot of that.. like they'll roll with everyone but they try to only roll with a certain few people.
